Rhyming Words

In English –
CARE rhymes with SHARE –
And MUST rhymes with TRUST –
LIVE rhymes with GIVE –
As well as FORGIVE

But if to rhyme
Is to have something in common –
Then someday – perhaps –
In a language spoken –
All of the rhyming words above
Will rhyme with each other –
And they will rhyme with LOVE

Notes to this poem…

Out of the blue with the circumstances of the day, those all caps words went through my life that day on June 15 1995, closely enough that I noticed their rhyme and that allowed the idea for this poem to ignite in my head as those thoughts got mixed around there. Think of it as being like a vat of something, my head, where things were just thrown in there and every now and then, some “lethal” combination results by chance and boom! comes forth an idea!

As for the concept of the idea itself, don’t you think that it’s true? All those words in full caps could be used in a description of what love is? I know if I wrote a little essay on what I thought love is, without being pretentious to think I could fully define it on paper or even try, I’d have to include all those words in full caps, including must to describe how those other full caps words would have to be associated with love.
