A Tale of Two Birds

My Love is like a bird –
Happily singing the sweetest songs heard –
But She is rich –
And is locked in a rich world

I, too, am like a bird –
Though with poetic words –
My imagination soars free –
Free to roam the free world

Our story is that of two lovers
Never destined to be together –
Simpler than any ever seen on stage –
Or any ever writ on page –
We’re as two birds in love –
One free –
And one in a cage
