Full moon eyes in thought –
Crescent moon eyes in laughter –
Blue moon eyes in love –
The kind of eyes I’m after

Notes to this poem…

I love the look o fbig eyes, but eyes that resemble upside down crescents when their owners laugh or smile. The starstruck, sort of hopelessly in love look I get a rare glimpse of every now and then (blue moon metaphor) is also beautiful to me. I want a partner with eyes that can be all those. That’s all I’m saying here. 🙂

Btw, there is a haiku within this poem from the first three lines. It was the original poem, and I liked it enough that I kept it as a separate haiku. But then I went to add the fourth line a few minutes after finishing the haiku and not having been able to sleep still.

The O-series of poems are one stanza poems composed before I got onto writing haiku and tanka, and short poetry while in action or traveling by select means like plane or ferry. These poems are 3-9 lines long with at least one rhyming couplet, and not of the short forms just mentioned. For the sake of elegance, I just called the collection One.
