A darkness covered the light –
Leaving shapes like moon –
And city skyline

Notes to this poem…
On my ferry ride home from tennis tonight, I was a little empty on inspiration. I guess those six poems on Monday and another one on Sunday drained me a bit on content. I kept staring at the moon in the sky and the Halifax city skyline, as well as water line until it hit me. Instead of seeing things by the light the produced, why don’t I inverse it and see it as a darkness with holes in it for light to come through?
Just an exercise in abstraction. I’m not feeling dark or down or anything of the sort. 🙂
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
