Notes to this poem…

From the previous haiku this collection, I mentioned the variety of ways which moped riders sat, especially the passengers who have more freedom to sit or stand in many ways without needing their hands on the handle bars. However, the ways the drivers sit and drive are interesting, too! That’s not even mention what they all wear, their expressions, what they do in traffic, and so on. That was where I got this idea of a picture set just of those moped riders. I’d have gotten a set as a hobby during my idle time in Viet Nam, except that it wasn’t safe to have a camera in my hands. Even in front of a well respected restaurant with lots of security nearby, they were warning me to put a phone camera away during one of the few times I took it out for a picture. It was to capture the luxury of a popular restaurant in a place some people, myself included, still thought of as being poor.

However, I do have that photo set in my head, making an effort to take snapshot memories of these riders. Oh, if you could only see…
