Warm December wind –
Both the times and the climate –
They are a-changin’

Notes to this poem…
It was like 10 degrees Celcius by the time I returned from Dartmouth on the ferry in the sunshine on this day almost in mid-December. For the Halifax-Dartmouth area in Nova Scotia, where I live, that is quite warm at this time of year. The seasons all seem to be coming and ending later these days, with the weather more extreme and unpredictable, due to climate change. With the Christmas shopping clock ticking, other things happening in the world, and even on a more microscopic level of my own life routines, I was aware that times was also changing. Being a big Bob Dylan fan, it was natural for me to think of that very famous Bob Dylan song
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
