Notes to this poem…
A little bit into my early Sunday morning ferry ride today, I looked at the cloud cover keeping the sun from being seen. Had there been a crack in the cloud cover, it would really have seemed like a big eye opening with the sun as the pupil and the clouds as the eyelid. That was from where the inspiration for this haiku came, with acknowledgement that “eye in the sky” is an English expression, probably made famous by a song I love from the Alan Parsons Project.
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
