Big Lift Ferry Poem F033

I was all alone
On the ferry upper deck –
This cold, windy night –
Exactly as my Hermit
Tarot Card of the Day said

Notes to this poem…

I can read Tarot cards, even if not well because, if nothing else, I can’t memorize everything about them and need a reference guide. But once I have it, game on!

I pick out a Tarot card each day as a friendly reminder of something to keep in mind, and as a way to keep card meanings fresh on my mind. On this day, I picked out the Hermit card which, as it suggests, has a component of being alone.

Half way through this ferry ride, I realized how this card applied to my situation of being all by myself on the upper deck of the ferry.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
