Notes to this poem…

I was fortunate enough to have been recently featured on the Halifolks Facebook page by my amazing friend Jack Scrine. He shared my story of racing the #1 Spring Garden bus in Halifax as part of my distance running training. Sheldon MacLeod of the Sheldon MacLeod Show on 95.7 News FM liked the story and invited me for a short, live radio interview today. So while on the Oval tonight, I jokingly composed this tanka around the 15 minutes of fame expression regarding how much fame the typical person supposedly gets during a life time.

I very much appreciate Jack and Sheldon for sharing my story, and others who Liked, Shared and commented on the photo and story. Thank you very much to all! Nothing has gotten to my head. Life goes on, except maybe for some documentation of this bus racing thing I had done in the past but never got documented. But since it seems a bunch of people want to see it now, who am I to turn them down? lol

The S-series poems were composed while I was out skating on the Halifax Emera Skating Oval, to squeeze in writing time in a life that is always getting busier.
