Tanka T004

Dear Peyton Manning –
I hope you will walk away
In a movie script –
Rather than end up walking
Away from a movie script

Notes to this poem…

Peyton Manning just won his second Super Bowl, with it being Super Bowl L (50). He got a record 200th win regular season and playoffs while at it, in a movie script ending to a Hollywood movie season, and career, if he wants to finish this way. Question at the moment is will he walk away in this perfect ending to what could only be described as a Hollywood movie script ending? Or will he walk away from that and chance that it will likely end far less perfectly? I’m hoping it will be the former.

Peyton did walk away in a movie script, retiring on March 7th, 2016.

The poems titled Tanka, followed by a number, are tanka composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Tanka collection.
