Haiku H074

Instead of your cup of tea –
I would rather be –
Your cup of coffee

Copyright by Minh Tan on listed dated of completion.

Notes to this poem…

The metaphor is I’d rather put a little energy into you than just to have you like me. Both can happen, but I’d prefer that reaction, even if you hated coffee, than the more platonic liking as with tea. 🙂

Inspired by something reposted on FB via Norma MH that said you can’t be everybody’s cup of tea so get over it. Pffft!

The H-series poems comprise of haiku composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Haiku collection.
