When all the life drawing models I’ve seen pose, and there’s only been about a dozen, they often do sitting and/or lying poses for at least one pose longer than 10 minutes. There are a lot of such poses that are beautiful, challenging and useful. However, given the number of them I see, my love for athletic poses, and my ability to do them, I have decided to carve out my niche and establish my identity with them. None I have thought of so far require lying down so I came up with this friendly little “self” trash talk. It’s “self” trash talk because I would not want to see some others stop doing their lying down poses. I’m just choosing not to do them. 🙂

I hope that in time, I will be able to get a nice, illustrated “Body Issue” of myself in a wide variety of athletic poses, though I won’t necessarily have the sporting equipment in most of them. It’s about the poses in life drawing.

The N-series poems were composed while I posed nude for life drawing, being very still with excess mental capacity I must force myself to occupy with appropriate thoughts so nothing awkward would happen. 🙂
