Running Poem R007

Photography run –
10k to get a picture
Of the Sandman’s car –
In the sand of the park beach –
In its element

Notes to this poem…

I ran with an iPhone for the first time today, becoming one of “those people”. However, I wasn’t really one of “those people” because I took it specifically to get some photography done, not just in case there was something to catch, or I needed to be hooked up to my technology.

Ever since I saw the Hot Wheels car for the Sandman this winter, in a series of Spider-man and villains cars, I wanted to get a picture of that Ettorium in the sand at a beach, where it would be in its element. It finally got warm enough for me to do so and I took advantage of it. I ran not only with my iPhone, but with two die cast cars: the Hot Wheels Sandman car and the Maisto Spider-man truck. And I got many photos, two of which were used, not just the one with the Sandman car.

I ran about 5k to a crappy beach at Point Pleasant Park to get these pictures, and 5k to get back, of course. They’re not great, but they’ll do for now until I can get to a decent beach with my better digital SLR to get better quality versions of these.

The R-series poems were composed while I was out running, in an effort to find time for writing in a life that is always getting busier.
