Big Lift Ferry Poem F061

One day – I just may –
Ride the ferry the whole day –
To write poetry –
To really grow my Big Lift
Ferry Poem collection

Notes to this poem…

I was enjoying basking in the sun so much on the ferry today I actually thought about riding the ferry for a whole day just to write poetry and massively add to this F-series poems collection of poems composed while I rode the ferry due to bridge closure! It’d have to be on a slightly warmer day than today, though, since I still wasn’t keen on being in a light jacket in the middle of the day in the cool wind in the middle of the harbour. It’d be a lot colder in the morning and evening!

I’m sure it’d be a real brain busting exercise were I to pull this stunt, though. It’s not easy to get inspired by a poem every 15 minutes, even if just a short poem like haiku or tanka! I’d do it on a day off when the ferries run every 15 minutes, and not 30 like today, just for the challenge and to really bump up the number of poems in my collection!

We’ll see is all I can say for now. 🙂

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
