Notes to this poem…

It’s May 16th and it’s 1 degree Celcius outside. That’s about 33-34 Fahrenheit. News came across today last month was the warmest April on record globally. Well, whoever is getting those temperatures, it ain’t Halifax! It wasn’t warm then. It ain’t warm now in May. If we were only average, things would be worse! Of course, we matter very little being one place of many, but I’m exaggerating to make the point. The language I chose, though, of course, is all true and without exaggeration. 🙂

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
