Big Lift Ferry Poem F066

The sea was wearing
Very strong perfume tonight –
And flaunted it, too!

Notes to this poem…

That salty sea air smell was definitely strong in the air while crossing Halifax harbour on the ferry tonight! That strong constant gale was like flaunting it, pushing more past your nose than necessary. But unlike general perfumes that can be overwhelming, I LOVE that salty sea air smell!

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
