Big Lift Ferry Poem F067

Six Big Lift Ferry poems
From one ferry ride –
Mind fast like this wind!

Notes to this poem…

I had written multiple poems on one ferry ride before. However, I have never hit six poems on one ride! That will probably be an all time record for me considering it’s about a 10 minute ride, with maybe 5 minutes waiting around. All the better for this Big Lift Ferry collection of mine that began as a whim of an idea (see F-series link below). It’s now grown into something of which I’m proud and with which I have a lot of fun, looking forward to my ferry rides despite their inefficiency for my traveling time.

There was a strong wind tonight so I figured I’d write this wind rather than the wind in the last haiku line. Captures the moment rather than just being a metaphor to the wind, in general.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
