Tanka T032

I hope I will not
Overdose on vegetables
From my meals this week –
Seeing what I have to eat
In my fridge before it spoils

Notes to this poem…

When I bought groceries this week, I didn’t realize I still had almost my weekly quota of white mushrooms, bok choy, mini-cucumbers and watercress in the fridge. Now I have two weeks’ quota of such, pretty much, along with the usual green onions, grape tomatoes, mint, and some others. A lot of these things start to go bad in a week so I’m going to be eating a lot of vegetables in my meals this week since I try really hard not to have to waste any food. Sometimes, that’ll involve boiling slightly gone bad stuff in soups or some of the healthiest instant noodle meals you will find! 🙂

The poems titled Tanka, followed by a number, are tanka composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Tanka collection.
