Haiku H093

An unexpected
Walk through Halifax’s
Public Gardens made my day

Notes to this poem…

I rushed to swing dancing class today. The destination was in the same general direction as where swing dancing was held with the Dalhousie Swing Dance Society from whom I take lessons. However, it wasn’t exactly in the same place. Not having planned well, I took a route I didn’t usually take. Part way there, I realized I could cross through Halifax’s Public Gardens as it had to be open now. It’s closed during winter, you see.

Well, that was a very pleasant surprise. I dropped my pace while in the Gardens just to enjoy it a bit more. It was beautiful and made my day!

The H-series poems comprise of haiku composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Haiku collection.
