Notes to this poem…

I recently realized some of my Facebook status updates were the same topics about which I composed poems. To do a double whammy, I try to compose poems that I then share as Facebook status updates, to give a little glimpse into my poetry life that I don’t really think any of my Facebook friends care for. That’s fine. I can’t limit myself to their interests in life, and this poetry thing has never been an extroverted activity for me anyway. I don’t do it for adoration or attention or such, though I appreciate people online enjoying it.

The glimpse into my poetic life is because I don’t actually share my poetry that often. That would drive most of them crazy to see this many Facebook updates, especially of late when I’ve just been on a crazy productive streak! It’s just to give them an idea how much or little poetry has been in my life of late, probably with the poem numbering since the last one shared being more of an indicator of anything else, if they even remember that, lol.

The poems titled Tanka, followed by a number, are tanka composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Tanka collection.
