People must talk more
About spring sunsets –
They’re as nice as the others

Notes to this poem…
There was a beautiful sunset going home on the ferry tonight. The sun was behind some horizon cumulus clouds, the big cotton candy kind, and had rays emanating from behind the clouds. It was gorgeous and led me to think why don’t people talk more about spring sunsets? I only hear of summer and autumn ones, it seems. And thus was born this haiku.
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
