Tanka T056

My calligraphy –
Is a messy accident
Waiting to happen –
With ink dripping or spilling
Every time I use it!

Notes to this poem…

It’s pitch black waterproof India ink. What could possibly go wrong? I’ve contained all the spilled ink, usually excess from my nibs after dipping in ink to write. I have a nice set up to absorb it all and am getting better at spilling ink less often. But really, one of these days, it’s going to fall on something I want to keep like carpet where I can’t get it out. I need to better control the ink when I write with pen nibs, which is about everyday these days filling out my tennis club’s membership cards in pen nib calligraphy. 🙂

The poems titled Tanka, followed by a number, are tanka composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Tanka collection.
