Where’s a real nut job
When the world needs one
To kill some real idiots?
Why do all the nut jobs only
Ever kill the good people?

Notes to this poem…
I just happened to have finished the first three lines of this tanka Haiku 103 on June 7th, four days ago. I was thinking along the lines of whatever that guy’s name was that killed John Lennon. Name left out on purpose cause he doesn’t deserve to be remembered. But just days later, came news of Christina Grimmie being killed by a nut job. I had never heard of her before today but she’s obviously loved by many and the guy is a nut job for just killing her like that, then himself.
I completed the thought of the haiku today in this tanka, in thinking of Christina Grimmie. #christinagrimmie
The poems titled Tanka, followed by a number, are tanka composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Tanka collection.
