Ghost ship in the thick fog bank –
Real ship in the sun –
Twelve minutes later

Notes to this poem…
In the fog bank, it looked like a ghost ship, well clouded by the thick fog. However, as it came out of it into the sun, traveling faster than the fog toward me, it became as clear as any real ship would be in bright day light. It took about 12 minutes for that to happen.
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
