Tanka T088

I’ve never had to
Tell this many white lies in
One day in my life!
Need sandpaper to shorten
My nose to normal again!

Copyright by Minh Tan on listed dated of completion.

Notes to this poem…

The key words are “had to”. Not because I had told more white lies than today, but because I had to today or else there were going to be far worse consequences to pay!

The sandpaper and nose thing references Pinocchio, of course.

The poems titled Tanka, followed by a number, are tanka composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Tanka collection.
