Notes to this poem…

I squeezed in errands between work and light tennis tonight due to injury. As a result, I made myself a couple of peanut butter and honey sandwiches, but packed sliced mini-cucumbers in a separate container to put between the bread on the ferry, as they’d have fallen out had I put them in the sandwiches, in a box, carried down to the ferry before eating on the ride.

I put the cucumbers in while on the ferry and ate the sandwiches there, too. Even in the early evening sunlight, it still felt like a picnic.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
