Notes to this poem…
Being a bright spot in their life, among others, versus being their everything in the background. I’d take the night sky any time now that I’ve thought about it via this metaphor of a haiku (which makes it a very illegit haiku for having comparisons, but I don’t write legit haiku).
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
