Big Lift Ferry Poem F188

A fish looking up –
Would tell you there were
Ten planes jetting ‘cross the sky

Notes to this poem…

Looking up at the vast expanse of mostly clear sky from the ferry tonight, it was obvious there were lots of jet vapour trails from commercial liners in the sky. Ten, in fact!

I’d have captured it in a photo for you to show but the only way to get that much sky in, if even possible, was with a fish eye lens, which my iPhone doesn’t have. Being on ocean water in the harbour, I then imagined the site as that a fish under water might see, if it saw the world as its eye’s namesake suggested.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
