Notes to this poem…

Those three artists lived in Florence, though not quite at the same time. They did different art with some overlap. They were Renaissance types in the well-rounded sense in addition to the time period. They generally didn’t like each other, I don’t think. Leonardo and Michelangelo despised each other. However, what they could bring, including critiques that would only improve each other’s works and spurred on their creative genius, if brought together, was the metaphor of how I wanted my artistic mind to work.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
