Big Lift Ferry Poem F220

Passenger smoking
On the ferry upper deck –
What are you thinking???
But there were no signs not to –
And why there will be some soon

Notes to this poem…

Seriously, in a public transit space in 2016, she should have known better not to have been smoking. However, there were no signs for me to point it out, and the ferry staff either didn’t see her or didn’t do anything about it.

I asked to make sure I was right and I definitely was. They can check any cameras they might have to make sure I wasn’t lying. But they said they’ll ask for it now.

The stupid always ruins it for everybody else, eh?

Upon smelling the second hand smoke, I turned around. When I saw no signs to point to otherwise, I just gave her a glare and moved to the side of the ferry instead of the front where I was standing to be classy and not make an example of her.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
