Big Lift Ferry Poem F244

To get my heart more
Into swing dancing than now –
I think my heart needs –
Another heart to dance with –
Rather than just dance with friends

Notes to this poem…

It’s a social dance and, unfortunately, I don’t take my social activities all that seriously. I am in the moment while there, but not elsewhere, which I need to be to go through exercises in my mind, do some practicing maybe, and such, to improve. I’m also not keen on doing social activities for so much of the week that I lose time to other things I’m keener on doing.

Having a love partner with whom to dance, on the other hand, rather than just dancing with a bunch of friends and people who show up at the dances, well, that’d be a different story is what I suspect. Only time will prove me right or wrong… that’s assuming she might like swing dancing and I would get the chance to test the theory. 🙂

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
