Something’s making waves
Under the surface –
Because nothing is above

Notes to this poem…

There was a steady stream of very gentle, but wide waves, going against the ferry this evening. It wasn’t from the other ferry going the opposite way, nor any water craft on the harbour as you could see their waves, mostly dissipating not far from them. It was probably the wind, but I could have been convinced some seismic activity far away left these remnant waves floating in. Or in a fantasy world, something large roaming the bottom of the harbour. It just looked strange to have all these waves without a clear source.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
