Running Poem R036

One traffic light made –
Helped me beat the bus –
In my foot race against it

Notes to this poem…

I sometimes race the #1 bus in Halifax from downtown at Scotia Square terminal, to Mumford terminal mid-town, to put some fun into speed training. It’s usually a matter of who gets the green light when they get to the lights that determines who wins, so long as I run hard all the way, when I’m running rather than waiting at the lights. That was the case today, when I got the light at Bayers Road and Connaught and the bus just didn’t. I was able to coast in for the win then. 🙂

The R-series poems were composed while I was out running, in an effort to find time for writing in a life that is always getting busier.
