Notes to this poem…
I win about half my races against the #1 Spring Garden bus when I run against it for a fun version of my speed workout. Today, though, it was being documented for the world to see.
Thankfully, I won, and it became a small sensation of a story! Over 108K views on Facebook, but that’s not shareable here so I’m embedding the YouTube version.
And a local TV news story that made the national news, newspaper article, among other radio and TV spots. 🙂
Thanks to all the people who made it happen.
If I had lost, though, you could just imagine people tearing into me calling me a cocky little this or that to think I could beat the bus running for most of its route (6.6 km), considering I’m not an Olympic athlete or even provincial class top runner. 🙂
The R-series poems were composed while I was out running, in an effort to find time for writing in a life that is always getting busier.
