Town in the shadows
Of some big mountains –
All the lost hours in sunlight!

Notes to this poem…

There was one town I saw on this flight over the Rockies where the entire town fit into the shadow of a mountain when the sun was at the “right” angle/s, one of which I was seeing. I don’t know how much of the town was in the mountain’s shadow for how long each day, which probably varied with day length and angles throughout the seasons. However, I could not ignore all the lost hours of sunlight this town must deal with, having been built where it was, which could not have been lost upon its founders also. There had better be something real good there to be losing all that sunlight for is all I’m saying!

The A-series poems comprise of poems composed while I was airborne, in flight.
