Big Lift Ferry Poem F311

If I never hear –
One more song I’ve yet to hear –
The rest of my life –
My world and life would still be –
Quite beautiful musically

Notes to this poem…

It wouldn’t be as rich as if I did keep hearing new songs I might like through the years, of course. I’d also be deprived of some of my favourite moments in life where I hear a song that so enraptures me I stop everything I do to pay attention to it. However, I have more than enough songs I know, enjoy and love that I think I would be fine if I never heard another new song for the rest of my life, and still have a very enjoyable and musical life.

Oh, but there are always covers. I LOVE hearing covers of songs, even when I don’t like them. I just like to hear how someone else envisioned that song differently, as if getting a new perspective on something old.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
