Big Lift Ferry Poem F334

Closing the doors and windows –
On my social life –
To get life work done

Notes to this poem…

A metaphor for what I’m doing in my life to get down to doing some things I need to do on my own cause there’s no social aspect to it, like learning to program for AI robotics, or sewing new garments I’m designing. Sure, there’ll be friends and occasions to interact for these things, but not most of the time. It’s just alone put your head down and grind it out time, or perspiration time, as I call it, to supplement that 1% inspiration to succeed.

So I’ve dropped my tennis club playing for next year, as well as my swing dancing and life drawing. I say dropped but I’ll be back at them all soon enough in some capacity. Just not as intense and deeply involved in groups with whom I did them.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
