Notes to this poem…

Here’s what you need to know about mangåta, the Swedish word for road to the moon, before I go on.

mangata

In November, there is supposed to be a supermoon that is the mother of all supermoons, so to speak. It’s supposed to be the biggest supermoon in 70 years and the biggest until 2034. I’ve done enough poems about mangåta in recent years that I was pondering if I should get on the ferry for a ride for the sake of the supermoon to compose poems about the moon and mangåta.

As it turned out annotating this after the supermoon, I went running that night to watch it and composed poems about the moon, and the occasional one about the mangåta seen, like Running Poem R058.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
