Last one off the tennis courts –
For this tennis year –
And a while I fear

Notes to this poem…
I happened to show up on the last playable night for tennis at my tennis club this year. By chance, I was also the last one off the courts. So that was it for me this tennis year. However, I won’t be rejoining next year due to how much time I spend at it, and how I don’t want to spend less time given it takes me an hour total transportation time for each day visited to play. I could get more exercise running during that time, never mind another 20 hours playing during many weeks that I can’t spare if I want to commit myself to other things that I want to do. Other things which have more societal impact and meaning to me. As a result, it might be an extremely long while, before I’ll be back as a member, possibly never.
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
