The long wait for the
Woodside ferry was
Definitely worth the time

Notes to this poem…
My colleagues and I came just too late for the second last ferry from Woodside to Halifax, with a half hour wait till the next and last one. It’d still would have been a faster ride to Halifax than by bus all the way around the harbour, starting with a wait for the bus.
There was a piano there and we entertained ourselves enough that it was worth the time. Some time was spent looking out into the harbour and across to Halifax by me, though, not all of the time spent being on or around the piano. I don’t play anyways, but colleagues did very simply. Still, it was nice.
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
