Big Lift Ferry Poem F351

Who is making waves –
At this time of night –
From halfway in the harbour?

Notes to this poem…

At about quarter to nine in the evening, in the middle of the harbour going from Woodside to Halifax, there were suddenly noticeably bigger waves. Strange thing was, looking around, there weren’t any ships near or moving. There wasn’t a lot of wind, but even if there were, these waves shouldn’t have come out of nowhere.

They’ll remain a mystery as i never did find out from where they came. Just a moment on a ride encapsulated on poems written on the ride.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
