Big Lift Ferry Poem F353

May you love singing
Hallelujah with all the
Angels in Heaven –
As your back-up singers for
Ever more, Leonard Cohen

Notes to this poem…

I post this poem out of order for its timeliness.

Legendary poet, singer and songwriter, Leonard Cohen, had just very recently passed away as I wrote this on the ferry ride home tonight. I was informed almost as the news first got out by musician friends who adored him, and before the major news network wrote up stories to post. This is my small tribute to him. His song, Hallelujah, is one of my favourite songs to play on guitar and sing.

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
