Running Poem R067

My favourite knife –
Takes souls of all the fruits and –
Vegetables I dice –
You do know that all fruits and
Vegetables have souls, don’t you?

Notes to this poem…

The things one thinks of while running, right?

I have a grated knife for over a decade now. It’s never needed sharpening, which I don’t think is possible for a grated knife anyways. Yet, it’s still as sharp as ever.

When I cook, I dice up a lot of things. In fondling reminiscing about my favourite knife mentioned above, I remembered about the Soultaker sword of the fictional comic book character, Katana, that takes the souls of all its victims. From that I drew the analogy with the fruits and vegetables. I cut meat with it, too, but those animal had long been dead before getting to my plate so I couldn’t claim that… even unrealistically. 🙂

The R-series poems were composed while I was out running, in an effort to find time for writing in a life that is always getting busier.
