The sole passenger –
On a public transit bus –
From boarding to home –
I got chaffeured around town
On a single bus ticket

Notes to this poem…

I got a complete ride from Mumford Terminal to my place on the #6 Downtown tonight without anyone joining me. I’m very grateful for the ride, but I feel sad not only nobody else took that bus, but that it was resources poorly spent. I know you can’t fill all the buses all the time. That’s how public transit works. But it wasn’t that late or anything that I should be the sole rider all the way.

The H-series poems comprise of haiku composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Haiku collection.
