These dreams ain’t broken –
They’re just incomplete –
Now’s the time to complete them

Notes to this poem…
I’m starting my annual week of master planning for next year. Not so much resolutions as bigger things that could be life long changes or pursuits. Could be new stuff. Could be old stuff. Could be just the same stuff in a different manner. It’s about opening my mind more and improving myself as a person. The actions are just a means and they could change during the year so long as the goal gets either furthered along or accomplished.
In thinking about all the possibilities, I found myself wanting to take up some things I had done in the past again. I’d do it a little differently this time around, probably, and try to go a little further, because I had not gone nearly as far as I had wanted before. So instead of thinking of them as broken dreams, which I had never thought of them as since I’ve always believed there’d be a time and place for them again, I affirmed them as incomplete dreams. 2017 may just be the time to complete them or push them further, or at least get them back on track since lost time means time required to make up for slip in progress from abandonment for so long.
So what might some of these dreams be? Well, my master planning requires that what I choose be cohesive rather than just individual things that neither support each other nor be harmonious with each other. I only put things on my list for further consideration today. Pending what makes it on the list and life limitations like time, money and such, we’ll see what gets chosen soon! 🙂
The S-series poems were composed while I was out skating on the Halifax Emera Skating Oval, to squeeze in writing time in a life that is always getting busier.
