Just one violin –
Playing for a thousand ghosts –
Waltzing in the dark

Notes to this poem…
An image from a dream. Think big ball room with an upper level at one end, connected to the floor by a grand set of stairs, with moonlight through big windows on one side (only one side, of course). Instead of a crowd of people waltzing on the floor, there were ghosts. Same image, just with translucent people. At the top of the stairs was a violin without a player, playing Brahms’ Waltz for violin on its own. The version is like the one below, except solo violin. I didn’t like any solo home made versions I saw on YouTube and wasn’t about to waste a lot of time scouring for a version. You use your imagination. 🙂
Strange, but beautiful dream!
The H-series poems comprise of haiku composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Haiku collection.
