Skating Poem S039

Can’t skate hard enough
On a packed skating oval –
To do exercise –
Or so says my Apple Watch –
For an hour of skating

Notes to this poem…

The Apple Watch I have is a first generation model. It’s quite nice and picks up a lot of movement well, like if I’m walking, standing up, and so on. However, it doesn’t seem to register casual skating, which is all I can do on a crowded skating oval so as not to risk colliding with people and injuring them and/or myself. An hour of skating and got diddly squat credit for it on my Apple Watch. 🙂

Not that I care much. I know what I’m doing and what I’m not. Just interesting to see how technology interprets it some time.

The S-series poems were composed while I was out skating on the Halifax Emera Skating Oval, to squeeze in writing time in a life that is always getting busier.
