Notes to this poem…
I saw someone tonight who reminded me of some injustices done to me in life. So I gave myself a pep talk for about an hour skating on that Oval and I’ll tell ya, there was fire in my eyes! I’m so motivated to go get some things done and to prove some people wrong! There’s some karma I need to cash in to settle a few things once and for all!
That fire in my eyes was burning so bright it kept me warm all skate despite having underdressed, underestimating the wind chill so common in Halifax and on the open space skating Oval.
I love it when I can motivate myself like that! 🙂
The S-series poems were composed while I was out skating on the Halifax Emera Skating Oval, to squeeze in writing time in a life that is always getting busier.
