If no one wants it

Notes to this poem…
I’ve been on a more awesome than usual streak for months now. Any time I feel a bit jaded by someone, I just look at what I offer that their partners can’t, or all the things they have to put with and are willing to put up with that they wouldn’t have to with me, and I gotta tell ya, I feel great! It’s a bit of if you want that, you can have it! I’m keeping what I got for someone not so willing to settle for so little… and I’m going to enjoy some of it, too, like what I can do with good health, excess income, a little love to treat myself to some things, accomplishing some things for the world to admire, etc.
As for what that person brings that I can’t? Let’s say it this way, if it were so obvious, I’d understand why that someone was with that person. I’m objective enough I can be rational about it and not feel jaded. But when I do, it’s like putting on a show for them to see except I don’t do it to their face or to them directly. I just pretend they’re having to look, which they sometimes can’t help with things like social media where they see posts, or see others reacting to the posts, and such. 🙂
The R-series poems were composed while I was out running, in an effort to find time for writing in a life that is always getting busier.
