Skating Poem S057

Is the chip on one’s shoulder –
The same chip as the
One off the old block?

Notes to this poem…

English has these two idioms of a chip on your shoulders (hold grudge) and a chip off the old block (person who closely resembles a Parent). That’s two totally different uses for “chip”, either of which is very literal.

So that’s my haiku question, if they were the same chip? And what would it mean if they were the same chip? 🙂

The S-series poems were composed while I was out skating on the Halifax Emera Skating Oval, to squeeze in writing time in a life that is always getting busier.
